Last night saw recent EBS private purchase Simmy’s Temple, win the Listed ‘Pike Place Dancer Stakes’ at Golden State Fields.
Having finished second in the Brocklesby Stakes at Doncaster for then Trainer Keith Dalgliesh, EBS identified the filly by Royal Applause as having the potential to make a successful trans-Atlantic switch. This has already proved a well-judged purchase with Simmy’s Temple winning on her US debut and the second career start for new trainer Doug O’Neill, picking up $45,000 in the process.
Travelling smoothly throughout, Simmy’s Temple was asked to quicken at the home turn, and showed a willing attitude when taking a tight route for home up the rail under Juan J Hernandez. Having slipped the rest of the field, the filly eventually got the better of the Mike Smith trained Tapped to win gamely by 3/4 lengths. Our congratulations go to all her connections.
