Mount Moriah (Mount Nelson) wins the Close Brothers Property Finance Handicap (Cl 3) at Ascot for Ralph Beckett and owner Norman Brunskill.
Ridden by Harry Bentley, Mount Moriah took a keen hold here in the early stages but eventually settled well in midfield and travelled powerfully in to the contest. When asked to quicken 2f from home he pulled clear with ease, shrugging off his 12lb rise in the weights to win by 4 lengths. This progressive gelding has now taken his record to 4 wins from 7 starts and is clearly open to further improvement going forward.
Mount Moriah was purchased for €30,000 as a yearling at the 2015 BBAG sale. With this year’s yearling sales just around the corner, please do not hesitate to contact EBS to discuss potential opportunities.
