Mount Moriah (Mount Nelson) wins the John Sunley Memorial Handicap (Class 4) at Newbury for Ralph Beckett and owner Norman Brunskill.
Ridden by Harry Bentley, the gelding was returning from a 7-month absence here but showed no signs of rustiness. Travelling strongly
in to the contest, Mount Moriah clearly relished the soft ground and won in impressive style by 3 3/4 lengths.
After the race jockey Bentley said ” He loved that ground and stayed well – he’d step up another furlong as well. He won with something in hand and is progressive when he gets his conditions”.
Mount Moriah was purchased by EBS as a yearling at BBAG sales for €30,000. To find our more about potential purchases, please feel free to get in touch.
