Teahupoo (Masked Marvel) wins the Grade III Fishery Lane Hurdle at Naas for Gordon Elliott and owners Robcour.
This was a hugely impressive performance by Teahupoo, who had planted himself firmly in to the picture for as a leading festival fancy. He downed last years triumph hurdle victor Quilixios here as was impressive in doing so, travelling and jumping like music the best horse throughout before peering away before the last.
After the race rider Jack Kennedy said “He was very good. I felt I had Autumn Evening covered when he fell and he did it well. He’s a lovely horse. I reluctantly had to go forward early on, but he wasn’t really going that hard in front. When Rachael went on I was much happier and he picked them up well and stayed galloping. He jumped brilliant. I hadn’t ridden him in a race before but I think he’s a horse that has improved massively”.
