Devasboy (Ectot) wins at Brighton for Mark Johnston and owners Deva Racing.
His debut effort at Goodwood and his second start at Musselburgh behind Bullet Force marked Devasboy up as a horse with a deal of potential going forward and he duly delivered on that promise here under Joe Fanning. He was unfortunate to take a bad stumble on breaking from the stalls but rider Fanning managed to gather his mount quickly and position him nicely on the pace. He went through the gears well from there and actually won a shade cosily at the line. Devasboy certainly looks to have some potential to progress from here and should give connections some fun for the remainder of this season.
Devasboy was purchased for 65,000gns at this year’s Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale.
