Maison De York (War Command) wins in fine style at Newcastle for Grant Tuer and owners York Fourty Four Ltd.
Having run well on his first two starts at Thirsk and Newcastle, Maison De York was sent of a well supported 2/1F for this six furlong contest. He broke well and travelled easily just off the lead before powering to the lead a the two pole under Sam James. When in front there was no pegging him back and he ran out an easy 2 length winner at the line.
After the race trainer Tuer said ” Maison De York is a horse that we have always liked, he shows us alot at home but has just been a touch slower to come to hand than I had expected. He will be a much better hrse next year over a mile and he’s one I am looking forward to
