Lucander (Footstepsinthesand) wins his third race of the season for Ralph Beckett and owners Mrs M E Slade & B Ohlsson, taking a valuable nursery handicap at a York.
The win kicked off what was to be a red letter day for Beckett, as the master of Kimpton Downs landed an across the card five-timer.
He had never raced on ground slower than good before, but it proved no issue for Lucander as he came from midfield with a powerful run under Ben Curtis to get up close home. He has shown improvement all the way through this season and given his staying pedigree, hopes are high that he can continue his progression into his three year old season.
Lucander was purchased for 28,000gns from Book II of the 2018 Tattersalls October Yearling Sales. The 2019 renewal of Book II begins this coming Monday and EBS are already hard at work searching for the next band of recruits.
The Lucra Partnership
An exciting new venture for 2020 and beyond comes in the form of a new trading syndicate in conjunction with Ralph Beckett.
The Lucra Partnership will comprise of five yearling colts with staying pedigrees. The aim will be to trade all of the horses before November 1st 2021, either at public auction or via private sale.
In recent year’s the likes of Mount Moriah, Pleaseletmewin, Skymax, Moon King and now Lucander have all been trained by Ralph to register multiple successes and have exponentially increased their value in the process.
The Lucra Partnership represents a wonderful opportunity to become involved in racehorse ownership, meet new people and hopefully enjoy a return on investment in the process.
