Prince Alex (Excelebration) notched his fourth win in succession, winning at Haydock for Amo Racing and trainer Ralph Beckett.
His win at Leicester earlier this month seemed to show that another step up in distance was well within his grasp and he proved that here in spades. Having his first run over 1m6f he was settled in rear early by Rossa Ryan who gradually coaxed his mount to the front at the end of the back straight.
As the field turned for home he pushed the accelerator and Prince Alex bounded to the front in very pleasing style. He forged on to put the race to bed in the final furlong and was still going away at the line.
This was another very classy performance from this improving three year old who is looking like a horse that may just have stakes ability.
Prince Alex was purchased from Book 1 of the 2018 Tattersalls October Yearling Sales.
